No, not equivalent. They are completely different drugs.
20 mg of diazepam is a lot for most people. I do not know what 1 bar xanax .... when 1 mg, which is not large, usually a high dose for many, but drowsiness. if it is not mandatory, should not one of them. and for most, if someone should be 20 mg of diazepam, it is likely to be supervised by a health professional, ie they must be taken to the hospital.
